Two solid sets and one that needed some tune-up gave the Pecatonica volleyball team a sweep of Black Hawk in a Six Rivers East match-up Tuesday. The Vikings cruised to wins of 25-15 and 25-9 in the first and third sets. The second set was more of a challenge that the Vikings pulled out 25-23.
“The girls came out the first set strong and then needed a bit of a pep talk to get them going to a rapid start in the third set,” Vikings coach Melissa Schlimgen said. The third set got to 17-3 at one point. “That allowed our entire roster some playing time,” the coach added. “It was a nice way to kick off our Homecoming week with a home win.”
